FFG Data Collection
Development of an electronic operational data collection tool to be used across the FFG platform – includes software design and development, hardware [COTS and bespoke], system installation, systems integration, training and in-service support.
Specific activities included - Business analysis – development of the system requirements, risk identification/development of mitigation strategies, identification of in-service and regulatory/governance constraints, identification of the multi-channel approval processes for each aspect of the solution.
Sustainment Performance (SPMS)
KoBold Group is currently delivering the Sustainment Performance Management System project for the Capability and Sustainment Group (CASG).
The CASG Monthly Reporting System was spreadsheet based, reliant on disparate and poorly configured spreadsheets, with little uniformity, process control or collaboration.
The Directorate of Sustainment Measurement & Analysis (DSMA) recognised the need for a contemporary reporting environment within a collaborative portal supported by structured data based on Product Schedules. KoBold Group was engaged to assist DSMA in an agile and collaborative development approach. ThoughtWeb© provided this adaptive platform.
HALSPO Support
The Heavy Air Lift Systems Program Office (HALSPO) is responsible for coordinating, monitoring and managing the maintenance, engineering, supply chain and training services provided in support of the Air Force’s fleets of Globemaster C-17 heavy air lift aircraft and KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport aircraft. While flight-line level maintenance for these aircraft is performed by uniformed Air Force personnel, the bulk of the deeper maintenance and other support services are performed by contractors. HALSPO is responsible for managing these contracts to ensure value for money and to ensure that the C-17 and KC-30A capabilities are sustained.
Risk Activity
Following a number of workshops and senior (group level meetings), we developed the department's enterprise security risk assessment, five year security plan including supporting product/services business cases for new capabilities, and the strategic balanced score card for managing all reporting.
Hornet Upgrade
Hornet Upgrade Project
ATACS successfully completed the update of F-18 Aircrew Operational Documentation to the Hornet Upgrade Program (HUG) Phase 2.2 configuration. This update spans the F-18 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and Tactical Procedures (TACPROCS), Flight Manual and Command Instruction, and sees incorporation of AIM-132 Advanced Short Range Air to Air Missile (ASRAAM), Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS), ALE-47 Counter Measure Dispenser System, and the Multi-functional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Tactical Datalink.
Video Conferencing
We have provided business analysis, strategy development and implementation for the supply of a total operational facility incorporating video conferencing and audio-visual integrated capability including highly classified, passive feeds for observation purposes. This high-level operational requirement involved CGL personnel in all phases of the functionality. We designed, implemented and will continue to support this complex system.
Defence Platform Document Electronic Storage
CDRMS is a configuration management software application designed primarily for the electronic storage and retrieval of engineering documents. CDRMS replaces the old Drawing Office that held tens of thousands of hardcopy paper drawings and documents with a central database for each System Program Office.
CDRMS consists of a web-based interface tied to a SQL server database. The application is used to control the version of drawings and documents released to Users depending on their work requirements and needs. CDRMS holds engineering drawings and other engineering documents and ‘objects’ together with a database of related data. Users in a SPO can view engineering drawings and other data files related to their weapon system controlled by caveat and user profile from their DRN PC.
Future ECM Capability
Tasked to produce six highly detailed technical specifications to guide the future procurement of Counter IED Detection and Electronic Counter Measure (ECM) capabilities for the ADF. This included both dismounted (worn by the individual) and mounted (fully integrated onto vehicle platform) equipment roles.

Technical Specifications
ADF’s JP 154 Future ECM Capability
tasked to produce six highly detailed technical specifications to guide the future procurement of Counter IED Detection and Electronic Counter Measure (ECM) capabilities for the ADF. This included both dismounted (worn by the individual) and mounted (fully integrated onto vehicle platform) equipment roles.
To accomplish this task a large number of workshops were orchestrated and chaired by Astute to draw together diverse stakeholder perspectives on these key life-saving capabilities.
The task was completed to the complete satisfaction of the Client on time and within budget.
